Taster sessions, courses and talks

As practical beekeepers we maintain around forty Commercial colonies in several local apiaries. Trisha is a BBKA Qualified Beekeeper and Assessor, we hold assorted BBKA qualifications and regularly attend CPD workshops and are effective communicators with relevant tutoring and teaching skills. Death by PowerPoint isn't an option on our courses! Just drop us an email to discuss.

Hive to Honey short course
An original gift or practical insight into whether beekeeping may be for you...or a friend. Flexible sessions of around two hours' duration mid-morning, afternoon or early evenings from May until August to suit you. Groups of up to four adults (and accompanied children over 10) will be given a tutorial about life in the hive and being a beekeeper before a short safety talk, suiting up (suits supplied, bring washing up gloves and wellies) and meeting the bees on the main apiary close up including going through a colony. A refreshing cup of tea or coffee and cake will be accompanied by a short talk about next steps to beekeeping and improving the environment for pollinators. Flexibility is key to our approach - let us know if anything is particularly of interest.

Individual or small group sessions
We understand that not all beekeepers or beginners can attend courses. Sometimes work, family commitments or disability provide obstacles to learning. To this end we can offer bespoke sessions in small groups or individually either in Craven Arms, at one of our apiaries or possibly in your own home or apiary.
